GOFFS has compiled a collection of 22 blacktype fillies and mares for the inaugural Chicquita Session on Friday, November 20th, the opening day of the November Breeding Stock Sale. The two-day sale contains a total of 350 lots and the catalogue is now available.
Henry Beeby, Goffs CEO, said: “The Chicquita Session has been met with great enthusiasm by vendors, and we are delighted to present a high-class collection of fillies and mares for its inaugural year, each one of which meets the very clear criteria laid down when the concept was announced. They feature among a broader catalogue that is full of the quality and Group 1 potential always associated with Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale and should hold huge appeal to a global audience of buyers.”
The session is named in honour of the classic-winning filly Chicquita who sold at Goffs November Sale for €6 million in 2013.
A likely star of the sale is Falling Petals, dam of dual Group 1 winner Saffron Beach. The 14-year-old dauhgter of Raven’s Pass has a two-year-old filly, yearling colt and filly foal, all by Saffron Beach’s sire New Bay, and she is in foal to champion sire Night Of Thunder.
Another eyecatcher is the four-year-old California Dreamer. By Mehmas, she finished second in Group 2 company as a juvenile and she split Lake Victoria and Cercene when runner-up in the Irish 1000 Guineas. She is in foal for the first time to Arizona Blaze.
Recent listed and group-race winners also on offer include Navassa Island, Goldana, Magny Cours and Copacabana Sands.
