Powerful Glory, winner of the Group 1 British Champions Sprint and the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes, has been retired from racing.

The son of Cotai Glory broke his maiden on debut by no fewer than five and a half lengths at Pontefract, before posting a brave victory in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on his next start.

His finest moment came on British Champions Day at Ascot last October, where he flew home in the Sprint to defeat multiple Group 1 winner Lazzat, July Cup victor No Half Measures and Inisherin, who landed the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot.

He raced twice without success this year for thr Richard and Peter Fahey yard.

He hails from a family packed with speed that includes Prix de l'Abbaye hero and fellow British Champions Sprint winner Maarek, with Ardad also featuring in his dam line.

Stud plans for Powerful Glory have yet to be confirmed.
