GRADE 2 winner and five-time Grade 1 placed Jetara will be among the highlights of the breeding stock section at Goffs December National Hunt Sale, which takes place from December 7th-9th.

In foal to leading sire Crystal Ocean, she will be consigned by Baroda Stud on behalf of owner-breeder Gerry McGrath.

Trained by Jessica Harrington, Jetara has been rated as high as 147 over hurdles and is the winner of eight races, including the Grade 2 Yorkshire Rose Mares Hurdle at Doncaster as well as victories in a Grade 3 and multiple listed races. She has been placed at Grade 1 level on five occasions, including in last year’s Grade 1 Champion Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown and the Grade 1 Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree.

An eight-year-old daughter of Walk In The Park, Jetara is out of Jelan who is a sister to the Harrington-trained Champion Hurdle star Jezki. She will be consigned by Baroda Stud on behalf of owner-breeder Gerry McGrath who is bringing his involvement in racing to a close and would otherwise have retained Jetara to breed from.

Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said: “Jetara’s race record and exceptional pedigree represent an exciting opportunity for National Hunt breeders, and we are very grateful to Gerry McGrath for choosing to send her to Goffs.

“This is another endorsement of the Goffs December Sale as the established destination for elite National Hunt breeding stock, while this year’s foal entries are looking equally strong. We look forward to publishing another top-class catalogue in the coming weeks.”

David Cox of Baroda Stud added: “It is a great privilege to consign Jetara on behalf of Gerry McGrath. She has been very well trained by Jessica Harrington to be a high-class race mare over the last few years. She hails from a family that Gerry has curated over generations, and we look forward to showing her to breeders at Goffs in December where they will have an opportunity to add an elite broodmare to their band.”
