THE November Sale conducted by Tattersalls Ireland Ltd at Fairyhouse is by far the world’s biggest National Hunt auction. This year it again extends to six days from Monday to Saturday, November 10th to 15th, and with 1,492 entries, it is larger than last year’s 1,475. The sale starts on the Monday with 272 National Hunt yearlings, then on Tuesday come the first of about 1,000 National Hunt foals which continue over the next three days. Finally on Saturday come some stores and over 100 broodmares. Selling begins at 10am daily.

There have been many individual graded winners in 2013 and 2014, which were sold at the November National Hunt Sale, including Grade 1 stars Lord Windermere, Captain Chris, Bobs Worth, At Fishers Cross, More Of That, First Lieutenant and The New One.

Among the foals catalogued, there’s no less than 42 by Oscar, 34 by Presenting and 44 by Flemensfirth, while other sires including Arcadio, Court Cave, Doyen, Fame And Glory, Getaway, Gold Well, Jeremy, Mahler, Milan, Robin Des Champs, Scorpion, Stowaway and Yeats have over 25 each.

Jumping stars as Weapon’s Amnesty have own-brothers among the foals, and there are half-brothers to Western Warhorse and Tranquil Sea, while there is a half-sister to The New One. There are also yearling half-sisters to Bobs Worth, Simonsig and More Of That.

Two additional lots have been added to the Yearling section of the November NH Sale. Lot 34 is a Beat Hollow half-sister to Grade 2 winner Sesenta from Coolcormack Stud. Lot 268 is a Flemensfirth half-brother to Fred Winter winner Dabiroun.

The NH Yearling Show, in association with the ITBA, takes place on Sunday, November 9th. All yearlings catalogued in the yearling section of the November NH Sale catalogue are eligible and nominations can be made by contacting Tattersalls Ireland before Friday, November 7th. There is a €12,000 prize fund and judges include Aiden Murphy, Tom Lacey, Paul Webber and Guy Petit.
