SEVERAL group and listed winners seem sure to add interest to an enormous Autumn Sale, to be held by Tattersalls at Newmarket in the week after next, which has been reduced to its usual four days, from Monday to Thursday, October 29th to November 1st.
Altogether, about 100 blacktype performers are among the 1,636 horses in training which have been entered, and that total is 121 fewer than last year.
The Autumn Sale has produced some remarkable bargains, with future 2000 Guineas hero Makfi sold here for only 26,000gns, while subsequent Group 1 winning sprinters G Force, Regal Parade, Prohibit and Les Arcs sold for 25,000gns, 16,000gns, 85,000gns and 32,000gns respectively.
Other notable Autumn purchases were outstanding hurdlers Punjabi, Istabraq and Inglis Drever, also several American graded winners.
The sale attracts plenty of bidders from around the world, looking out for similar prospects among these horses in training, many of which have already been high-class performers.
