AS usual, there are plenty of top-class broodmares and fillies in the second week of the huge December Sale at Newmarket from Monday to Thursday, December 2nd to 5th, which starts at 9.30am each day.
The very substantial catalogue for the second week contains 1,020 entries, 75 fewer than last year. Many attractive broodmares and fillies coming out of training will be sold. Among the mares are several offered by The Castlebridge Consignment as part of the dispersal of the Waddesdon Stud.
In addition to the usual large number of entries from Britain and Ireland, there is again a significant presence of vendors from France, Germany and Italy.
Among the covering sires are such stars as Galileo, Frankel, Sea The Stars, Dark Angel, Oasis Dream, Invincible Spirit, New Approach, Mastercraftsman, Kingman, Australia, Gleneagles, No Nay Never, Postponed and Golden Horn, also the American sires Justify, Kitten’s Joy and War Front.
