NOW that overseas buyers can come to Ireland without needing to self-isolate, Tattersalls Ireland can finally catch up with its National Hunt store horse sales.
Close to 900 horses are catalogued across three days at Fairyhouse next week. It starts on Tuesday with the May Sale (200 stores), then the July Sale (250 lots) on Wednesday, followed by the August National Hunt Sale (330 lots) on Thursday.
The May Sale includes a wildcard catalogue of 56 horses and the potential star lot here is a Walk In The Park to multiple Grade 1 winner Champ.
Both the May and July Sale catalogues are combined, with a separate catalogue for the August Sale.
The May Store Sale celebrated Cheltenham success this year with Telmesomethingirl putting in a stellar performance to land the Grade 2 Mares’ Novice Hurdle. Fellow graduate Hometown Boy claimed Grade 3 victory at the Aintree Festival, while Nada To Prada and Star Gate also landed blacktype honours last season.
August National Hunt Sale graduate Chantry House celebrated dual Grade 1 success at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festival last season, when winning the Marsh Novices’ Chase and the Mildmay Novices’ Chase.
The Cob and Adrimel both claimed Grade 2 victories last season, and The Mean Queen and Pink Sheets landed listed honours.
All horses catalogued for the three sales are eligible for the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper 2022.
