UNBEATEN bumper winners Charbel and Castello Sforza headline Goffs Punchestown Sale next week along with other quality lots such as 2015 Cheltenham winner Rivage D’Or. The sale takes place after racing on Thursday evening.

Sandra McCarthy’s Charbel is trained by her brother Tom Mullins and his two victories include last month’s Listed Kevin McManus Bookmaker Champion INH Flat Race at Limerick. Charbel holds an entry in the Punchestown Champion Bumper on the day before the sale so his value may yet be further enhanced.

Castello Sforza, a son of Milan, was a notable winner for Pearl Bloodstock when winning the Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Memorial Sales Bumper, a race won 12 months previously by Moon Racer, winner of the Cheltenham Bumper this year.

In addition the sale includes winning four-year-old hurdler Prussian Eagle who has also been placed in Grade 1 and Grade 3 company. He is a full brother to recent Craven Stakes winner Kool Kompany and is by Jeremy, sire of the ill-fated Our Conor.

Among the other horses in training to be offered will be Rivage D’Or, winner of the cross-country race at this year’s Cheltenham Festival for Gigginstown House Stud. Rivage D’Or is set to run in the La Touche Cup at Punchestown on the day of the sale.

Winning point-to-pointers include Somersby’s half-brother Robin De Roost as well as four-year-olds Champagne Classic, Rivabodiva and Six Gun Serenade.

Wild card entries will be taken up to the day of the sale which takes place immediately after racing on Thursday evening in the winners’ enclosure at Punchestown.

The wild card lots will be available to view on the Goffs website www.goffs.com. Catalogues will be available next to the weigh room at Punchestown.
