NINE years ago Goffs UK changed the name of their St Leger Sale, which is now known as the Premier Yearling Sale, acknowledging the fact that this auction is nowadays held at the end of August, two weeks before Doncaster’s St Leger meeting. This sale has set new records in each of the last four years.

The Premier Yearling Sale will be held at the Doncaster Goffs UK sales complex on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 27th and 28th. As usual, there are many entries from Ireland among the 469 candidates, and all yearlings sold at this auction and at the Silver Sale will be eligible for the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes, with a prize fund of £300,000 and scheduled to be run at York in mid-August 2020.

On the third day, Thursday, August 29th, Goffs UK will hold their Silver Yearling Sale, first staged in 2014, which has another 175 quality entries.

Goffs UK is enjoying another very successful year in 2019, with many group winners including star sprinter Advertise and the classic filly Laurens. The star-studded catalogue contains yearlings by many the leading sires, including Acclamation, Dark Angel, Exceed And Excel, Kingman, Kodiac, Lope De Vega, No Nay Never, Oasis Dream, Pivotal, Showcasing and Zoffany.
