GOFFS again have a very strong catalogue for their 22nd annual Land Rover Sale, which will be held in Kildare Paddocks at Kill on the Tuesday and Wednesday of the second week in June. It has been decided to reduce the size of the sale from last year’s three days.
Each of the stores that is sold will be qualified to enter for the valuable Goffs Land Rover Bumper, to be run at the Punchestown Festival in 2018, with a prize fund totalling €100,000. Hardy Eustace, Newmill and Glencove Marina have all won the bumper in recent seasons.
Imperial Commander and Big Zeb are among the many other top winners to change hands here, while among the winners at recent Cheltenham Festivals who were bought at this sale were the brilliant Altior and Faugheen. The latter cost just €12,000 and won the Champion Hurdles at both Cheltenham and Punchestown.
The catalogue includes 508 stores, 102 fewer than last year, and all the leading N.H. sires are represented, including Presenting (14), Oscar (18), Flemensfirth (27), Getaway (29), Milan (19), Scorpion (11), Stowaway (20), Yeats (12), etc. Entries include siblings to Finger Onthe Pulse, Lord Scoundrel, Grandouet, etc.
