IN this small but very select auction on the Wednesday of the Qatar Glorious Goodwood race meeting, Goffs UK Sales cover various aspects of Flat racing and breeding, with entries including winning horses in training on the flat in England and overseas, as well as a very attractive broodmare. This is only the second year of this sale, which will be held in the winner’s enclosure after racing on July 31st, but it made a great start last year, with a top price of £400,000 for Perfect Angel and some other large prices.

Proven flat form

Lot 1 RED ARMADA, 3yo b c by Invincible Spirit. From Clive Cox Racing. Winner of his last two starts, a handicap at Ascot over a mile on 12th July and a novice race over a mile at Chepstow in June, placed in his other four starts. Half-brother to five winners, including Dux Scholar (six wins, listed Steventon Stakes, second Group 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein in France, Group 2 Darley Oettingen Rennen in Germany).

Lot 2 NATE THE GREAT, 3yo b c by Nathaniel. From Saxon Gate (Archie Watson). Won two races over six furlongs and a mile, second listed Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot, third Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket, Listed Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield. BHA Rating 100. Dam winning half-sister to James Garfield (Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes, Group 3 Greenham Stakes).

Lot 5 HARVEY DENT, 3yo ch g by Mayson. From Saxon Gate (Archie Watson). Won three races up to 10 furlongs in 2019, latest at Hamilton Park on 18th July and at Carlisle on 6th July, placed eight times. Half-brother to two winners, including Poster Girl (won 2 races in USA, group placed).

Lot 7 SHOW ME SHOW ME, 2yo by Showcasing. From Musley Bank Stables. Winner of Unibet Brocklesby Stakes, Doncaster on his debut and also placed twice, second on his latest start in Weatherbys Super Sprint.

Lot 3 WHEELS ON FIRE, 2yo b c by Sidestep. From Bansha House Stables. Won over five furlongs at Bordeaux in May, second Listed Prix des Reves d’Or at Vichy. Grandam half-sister to Fairy Queen (Group 2 Ribblesdale Stakes) and Tashawak (Group 2 Falmouth Stakes).

Lot 6 FAN CLUB RULES, 2yo b c by Gutaifan. From Bansha House Stables. Won over five furlongs at Bordeaux in May, close fourth to A’Ali in Group 2 Prix Robert Papin at Deauville on 21st July, Group 3 Prix du Bois at Chantilly. Half-brother to two winners. Dam half-sister to Mi Raccomando (Italian 1000 Guineas).

Lot 8 HOLY LEGAL, 6yo b m by Holy Roman Emperor. From IC Racing LLC. Champion Sprinter in Uruguay in 2017/18. Won 13 races in Brazil and Uruguay, Grade 2 Gran Premio Maronas in January 2019, Grade 3 Clasico Rufino T Dominguez, Grade 3 Clasico Jose Martinelli Gomez, and five listed wins. Third in her two latest starts, at Arlington Park in USA in June and July 2019. Half-sister to two stakes winners in Brazil and Uruguay. Dam Hora Legal won three listed races in Brazil.
