ONE of their larger auctions, the Goffs December NH Sale is almost exclusively for National Hunt foals. Because there are also some yearlings, broodmares and stores this year, there are no less than 594 lots due to be offered at Kill, so Goffs will again hold the sale on two days, on Wednesday and Thursday, December 11th and 12th.

The sires of the foals include Beat Hollow, Doyen, Flemensfirth, Getaway, Imperial Monarch, Jukebox Jury, Leading Light, Mahler, Milan, Ocovango, Shantou, Shirocco, Soldier Of Fortune, Walk In The Park, Westerner and Yeats.

There have been some top-class jumpers changing hands at this auction, notably Imperial Commander, winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Lancashire Chase, as well as the 2011’s Grand National hero Ballabriggs, plus Little Josh, Captain Cee Bee, Peddlers Cross, China Rock and Finian’s Oscar.

Foals in this year’s catalogue include half-brothers to The Liquidator and One For Arthur and a sister to One Track Mind.
