GOFFS’ December Sale, one of their larger auctions, is almost exclusively for National Hunt foals. Because there are also some yearlings, broodmares and stores this year, there are no less than 566 lots due to be offered at Kill, 143 more than last December, so Goffs will hold the sale on two days, on Wednesday and Thursday, December 9th and 10th.
The sires of the foals include Arcadio, Fame And Glory, Flemensfirth, Getaway, Imperial Monarch, Mahler, Milan, Oscar, Presenting, Robin Des Champs, Scorpion, Shirocco, Stowaway, Westerner and Yeats.
There have been some top class jumpers changing hands at this auction, notably Imperial Commander, winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Lancashire Chase, as well as the 2011 Aintree Grand National hero Ballabriggs, Little Josh, Captain Cee Bee, Peddlers Cross, China Rock and Present View.
