AN enormous total of 1,753 lots has been entered for Goffs’ November Sale at Kill in Co Kildare and, because this is 81 more than last year, they will again be selling for seven days.
There is no shortage of well-bred horses in the two catalogues that Goffs have produced, the first containing 1,202 foals, just one less than in 2015, scheduled to be offered on the five days from Sunday to Thursday, November 13th to 17th.
The breeding stock catalogue contains details of 551 broodmares and fillies entered on the Friday and Saturday, November 18th and 19th, with selling commencing at 10am on those two days.
The highlight of the sale will be the large draft of top-class horses from the Wildenstein Dispersal, which The Castlebridge Consignment offers on the Thursday and the Friday.
Another major attraction on the first five days will undoubtedly be the foals by top sires such as Galileo, Dansili, Pivotal, Oasis Dream, Invincible Spirit and Sea The Stars, but there are several other well-known stallions who will have some of their first crop of foals in the sale ring at Kill. These include such exciting newcomers as Group 1 heroes Kingman, No Nay Never and War Command.
The broodmares on Friday and Saturday have some notable covering sires, which include Acclamation, Australia, Dark Angel, Golden Horn, Kingman, Kitten’s Joy, Lawman, Mastercraftsman, Pivotal, Pour Moi, Raven’s Pass, Sea The Stars, Shamardal, Teofilo and Zoffany.
