LAST week’s four days of trade at the Inglis Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale netted over AUS $34.5m with an overall clearance of 87%. Weanlings were split into platinum, select and general categories with 89 of the 107 platinum weanlings offered averaging $42,253.
The top lot was a Magnus filly bought for $160,000 by Graeme Gathercole and Sheamus Mills. Broodmares were in demand with an 87% clearance rate logged from the 557 offered.
An average of $61,217 was topped by James Harron Bloodstock who bought Comaneci, in-foal to Fastnet Rock and from the family of Elvstroem and Haradasun, for $780,000. A handful of stallion shares were also offered, the most notable being the $390,000 paid for a share in Sebring.
