Michael Halford is looking forward to a double classic tilt at the Curragh this weekend.

The trainer will saddle the exciting Irishcorrespondent against hot favourite Churchill in the Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas on Saturday, with stablemate Rehana taking her chance in the fillies' version 24 hours later.

Halford said: "Both Irishcorrespondent and Rehana are in good form and on target. It's probably going to be a long week, but the forecast is quite good and hopefully we will get decent ground.

"Irishcorrespondent has come out of his last race at the Curragh really well and is in fantastic form."

Halford struck with Allography under 3lb claimer Conor McGovern at Naas on Sunday, and added: "He was dropped a few pounds and we decided to claim five off him with Conor, who gave him a very good ride. He kept it simple and is good value for his claim."
