Fine Rightly predictably proved far too strong for his opponents in the Imperial Call Chase at Cork on Sunday.

Stuart Crawford's high-class eight-year-old had already won at Navan and Down Royal this season and ran an excellent race to finish third in last month's Irish Gold Cup at Leopardstown.

The 4-5 favourite to follow up his Down Royal success of 10 days earlier, Fine Rightly moved powerfully throughout in a race run at a sedate gallop.

Andrew Lynch eased the market leader to the front in the home straight and he was good value for the winning margin of 10 lengths. T oon River was best of the rest in second.

Crawford said: "He's been great for us this season and is learning to settle. The step up in trip is no problem and I'm hoping he'll be an out-and-out galloper but he also has a touch of class.

"Cheltenham was too quick for him and I'm happy he's won today. We won't be greedy and there isn't a whole lot more for him this season, that's why I was keen to come here for this as the ground suited.

"He could run in the Scottish National if there's some moisture, otherwise he could be left off early and brought back in early."

He added: "It's my first winner here and I might come back - it took just under five hours to come but will be shorter going home!"
