William Whitaker and Fandango went clear in 34.27 seconds to win the class at the three-star show in Vejer De La Frontera, Spain, ahead of second-placed Holly Gillott and Dougie Douglas on 36.06. Third place went to Spencer Roe and Wonder Why, who finished in 37.00. Twomey and Royale Du Rouet were just 0.10 seconds behind them in fourth place.

Richard Howley and Thomas Ryan were Ireland’s other flag-bearers at the show, with Ryan also making the top 10 in the Grand Prix. Riding Caribo, he finished in ninth place after the jump-off.

Howley won the Grand Prix Tour A2 with Golden Arrow II. The pair went clear in 29.63 to push France’s Severin Hillereau into second on 31.94. Howley and Golden Arrow also finished second in the Grand Prix Tour A2 behind Aznar Alvarez and Othello D Auge.

Riding Jahil, Howley recorded a second place in the Grand Prix Tour A2, behind Holly Gillott, and a joint second in the Tour B, sharing the spot with Matthew Sampson and Berkley III. Meanwhile, Thomas Ryan and Coristar finished seventh in the Grand Prix Tour B, which was won by Luca Moneta and Petit Dame Des Erables.

In the Tour D, the Irish Sport Horse Cruise on Clover gave Ryan eight place in the class which was won by Julien Epaillard and Qarat De La Lagoe.
