A TRAGIC accident claimed the life of a two-year-old boy at his parents’ equestrian centre in west Cork last Saturday.

Toddler Ben O’Regan died after sustaining serious head injuries when the dividing partition in a horsebox collapsed on top of him at the property between Goleen and Schull in Co Cork.

Emergency services were called to the scene by his parents Debbie and Roy and their son was airlifted to Cork University Hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Young Ben was buried at Ballinaskeagh Cemetary on Tuesday.

He is survived by his parents, younger brother Eddie, grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts and extended family.

Gardaí and the Health and Safety Authority have both launched separate investigations into the death, but the incident is being treat as a tragic accident.
