THE winning Irish-bred show jumper Cruise On Clover (ISH) (TIH) has been retired.

Tipperary native Thomas Ryan announced the retirement of his longest partner in the sport.

The 16-year-old gelding by Cruising (ISH) out of Ballinakill Clover (ID) by Clover Hill (ID), was bred by Dr Noel Cawley. Retired after winning the 1.35m competition in Knokke CSI***, Belgium, Thomas Ryan said: “Cruise has always had plenty of character and wasn’t always easy, but we worked well together over time and he has done me proud, being my most successful horse to date.”

The horse was bought by Simone Aschwanden and began competing in June 2009 enjoying many wins with Ryan in shows such as Oliva Valencia, Canteleu, Lummen and Arezzo, to name a few.

Caroline Chambers stated: “It has been a pleasure to groom and work with Cruise On Clover over the past couple of years. He is known as having an Irish personality. He is an extremely clever horse and has an amazing ability to always get what he wants, a true character.”

Cruise On Clover will now retire at home with Ryan in the green fields in Switzerland.
