THE pages of Irish Horse World carry brilliant photographs each week but one which caught the eye of the equestrian community worldwide at the start of 2019 was that of seven-year-old Tommy Codd hunting with the Killinick Harriers, taken by Tom Sinnott.

Throughout the hunting season there were some amazing photographs of those who ride to hounds over varying country, many backed up with reports from the paper’s contributors on the sport, Noel Mullins, Dickie and Catherine Power, plus Orlaith Cuddy’s profiles of hunt staff and personnel.

Each week, much time and thought goes into selecting a quality photograph to grace the front page of the IHW, these ranging from mud-splattered children on the hunting field or in minimus championships, to their peers and seniors in international competition.
