THE Showjumpers Club announced TRM will become official sponsor The Showjumpers Club Spring Tour for the second successive year with an overall package worth €100,000.

In a major boost for national show jumping, approximately €70,000 will be available for riders to compete for over its duration. Along with this, the addition of almost €30,000 worth of additional product sponsorship will be on offer. Many of the rounds will be livestreamed.

The Spring Tour will start early with the first round taking place at Cavan Equestrian on December 30th this year. In total there will be 22 rounds, along with the final, which will take place in Coilog on April 18th. New venues have also been added including Tubberbride, Wexford Equestrian and The Meadows.

Chairperson of TRM Larry Masterson said: “In appreciation of our valued and loyal Irish customers, TRM are proud to be the sponsor of the 2021 TRM Spring Tour. This is now the highest valued commercial show jumping sponsorship in Ireland. Thank you to The Showjumpers Club who have done an excellent job to secure prime venues.”

Ronan Corrigan of SJC added: “TRM came on board with us in 2020 but due to Covid-19, show jumping competition was halted early into the Spring Tour. TRM and The Showjumpers Club have worked together to continue supporting the industry during the year. This continued and increased commitment by TRM and TRI is testament to the success of The Spring Tour and its value to the sport and industry.

“There is more venues than ever and the Tour will run over a longer period and this has been driven by the demand from riders, owners and breeders for us to develop and support our sport. To this end we have come up with additional ways to recognise owners and breeders this year along with additional valuable prizes in each category within the Spring Tour.

“We hope that the 2021 Spring Tour will be able to ensure that 2021 will be a successful and well supported year for show jumping and we wish to thank our sponsors TRM and TRI and all the venues that have come on board.”

TRI Equestrian will sponsor the pro-am section which will see the leading rider in each round receive a €100 voucher. They will also provide prizes for grooms and breeders.

TRI Equestrian Managing Director, Brendan Murphy said: “We at TRI Equestrian are delighted to be able to play our part in supporting this fantastic tour. Supporting the national circuit is fundamental in helping our industry. We also know that the grooms are a vital part of the team and without good breeders, we could not have such a high standard of horses competing at home and abroad.”

Team manager for the Irish youth show jumping teams, James Kernan added: “This tour will prove very valuable for me in accessing the young hopefuls and their horses especially because there was very little opportunity to do this last year.”
