A FRESH search is under way for a new chief executive officer (CEO) to lead Horse Sport Ireland, the national governing body for equestrian sport.

Advertisements have been placed and the recruitment process will be handled by Mazars. The deadline for applications is noon on Monday, July 5th.

The advert states the new CEO will have ‘a proven track record in leading management teams through a period of growth and change’ and also states that the CEO reports to the chairman of the organisation.

Currently the CEO position is held by Joe Reynolds who took over as the interim CEO of the organisation following the September 2020 departure of former CEO Ronan Murphy, who had taken up the key role of the 32-county organisation in 2017.

Successful businessman and former chairman of Dressage Ireland, Joe Reynolds, had held the position of chairman of Horse Sport Ireland prior to taking over the reins as CEO. His time in the CEO’s role has been most visibly marked by his drive to move Horse Sport Ireland into new offices planned for Greenogue Equestrian as well as the successful hosting of the Emerald Masters, which put live Irish show jumping back on RTÉ television before Christmas.
