LOOKING for a great day out for all the family?

Look no further than The Laois Hunt’s Annual Stradbally Family Fair & National Hound Show, which takes place at Stradbally Hall Estate on Sunday, July 2nd.

The event runs from 10am-6pm, and offers a huge range of equine and dog displays, demonstrations and competitions, as well as trade stalls, music and kids’ entertainment.

There’s plenty to see, with all kinds of horse and hound enthusiasts travelling from around the country to participate in events such as the Irish Draught Show, the Hunt Chase, Endurance Riding, Pony Club Games & National Foxhound, Beagle and Harrier Shows.

There are also a number of classes on show including side-saddle, racehorse to riding horse, puissance, Derby jumping and Western riding displays.

IDHBA SHOW

The IDHBA Laois Branch show will have a wide range of in-hand for Irish Draught mares, foals and youngstock and ridden classes for both Irish Draughts and Traditional Irish Horses. There will also be a qualifier for the Irish Horse Gateway National Irish Draught Performance Championship. As well as enjoying the sheer spectacle, there is an emphasis on family fun, with a range of music and entertainment taking place throughout the day including social dancing and the popular Novelty Dog Show.

This year’s event will also feature lots of trade stands, Archery, and the legendary Zoltan Gere with Horseback Archery. Tickets on the gate are €10 for adults, children under 12 go free. Students and OAPs €5.
