Appeal for missing therapy pony

HELP is being sought to find a therapy pony, missing from Arklow since Christmas. The pony’s disappearance is causing great distress to John O’Reilly (12), who is deaf, blind and cannot speak.

The missing six-year-old pony is described as 12.3hh, black and white, with an unusual black patch on her back left leg. She also has a distinctive black ring on one of her nostrils and a black dot under her bottom lip. Another distinctive marking is a black spot that can be found under her forelock.

Bella was last seen in her field on December 22nd last and was discovered missing on Christmas Day.

“My son John went out with apples and carrots to find her in the field but she was missing. She is in foal and we needed extra land for her so rented a field in Arklow. There were other ponies in it and they are still there. The lock and chain were missing off the gate when we arrived on Christmas Day so we think she could have been stolen,” explained John’s mother Anne Marie O’Donoghue.

If anyone thinks they may have seen her or might have any information, will they call us please at 085 273 5184. We really want and need her back for John,” said Anne Marie.

Separately, an alert was posted this week by Leinster Horse and Pony Rescue for information about a brown and white 15.2hh gelded and microchipped gelding, missing from his field in Damastown, near Blanchardstown, Dublin 15.
