RIVER Lodge Equestrian and business partner Spencer Golding have gone their separate ways. The Wexford-based company, which is run by international event rider Michelle Kenny and Rafael Sanctuary, last week released a statement to say the partnership had come to a mutual end.

The statement read: “The recent mutual parting of ways with Spencer Golding brings to an end an unbelievable couple of years.

“It was a fantastic opportunity and we are very grateful for the shared experiences we have had.

“Rafael and Michelle are taking time to re-evaluate the situation before they decide what path they take next. We’ve done it once before and we will do it again. It is only a chapter closed, a new chapter will begin, we are humble and know what work is required to do it again.”

New Zealand show jumper Lisa Cubitt, who has been riding under the River Lodge Equestrian banner for the last few months, will continue her partnership with Golding at his Home Farm in Sussex.

On the eventing side, British international Holly Woodhead moved to Wexford just last month to take up a job at River Lodge. She too will move to the Sussex base and rider under the Home Farm banner.

Woodhead said: “With the recent parting of ways between River Lodge Equestrian and Spencer Golding, my circumstances have changed, and I am thrilled to say I am now based at the amazing Home Farm, Sussex.

“The continued support from Spencer means the world to me and we will continue to strive towards our shared goals and ambitions with a great team of horses behind us!”
