THE five-person pony Nations Cups squad for the upcoming show in Fontainebleau, France, was named by team manager Gary Marshall this week.

The squad is Francis Derwin with his sister Kate’s former mount Cul Ban Mistress (CP), Max Foley and Pumkins Pondi (CP), Katie Power and Knockroe Little Mike (ISH), Lucy Shanahan and Caliber DE, and Rhys Williams with Shadow’s Dancer (CP).

GREAT EXPERIENCE

Marshall said: “This is a team that gained their positions through the Plusvital/Holmestead Pony Spring Tour 2018 and it is a young team.

“For four of the five riders it will be their first time on a CSIOP team, it will be a great experience for them for the future and I am really looking forward to seeing how they perform.”

This year, in honour of Ireland’s success in previous years, Ireland will be the guest of honour at the Bonneau International Pony Show, Fontainebleau, which takes place from April 12th through to April 15th.

Ireland have won the Nations Cup five times, as well as winning the CSIOP Grand Prix on six occasions, including 2017 when Kate Derwin won aboard Cul Ban Mistress and Lucy Shanahan took third place with Cinderella Girl (ISH).
