A LEGAL dispute over the use of a yard and stables could be fought out in the High Court.

The Irish Independent reported this week that the use of the property in question at Kilternan, Dublin 18, is the subject of a disputed claim of almost €250,000, allegedly owed by international event rider Aidan Keogh, who runs the successful Tredstep Ireland company, to a company called Droimsi Developments Ltd. Mr Keogh is disputing the claim and plans to defend the case, according to the paper.

One of the main shareholders in Droimsi Developments Ltd is Stephen O’Connor, whose other business The Underwriting Exchange, sponsors the senior Irish show jumping team.

Droimsi bought the property from Mr Keogh’s mother in 2007 but licensed it to him for an annual fee of €25,000.

According to a summary summons issued by lawyers for Droimsi Developments earlier this month, payments totalling €249,149 were owed to the company up to September 28th last year.

The summons alleges that the defendants defaulted in discharging the licence fee due under the terms of the agreement. Droimsi Developments Ltd has asked the High Court for an order for the sum allegedly owed, interest and the company’s legal costs.
