DARRAGH Kenny has moved up one place to rank 16th in the lastest FEI world rankings for June, released this week.

The latest movement comes as no surprise as the Co Offaly rider has posted a number of strong results recently, including five-star wins at Spruce Meadows in Canada. His latest result came just last Sunday when he won the €500,000 five-star Rolex Grand Prix with Balou Du Reventon at Knokke in Belgium.

Shane Sweetnam is up eight places and next best of the Irish in 23rd, just ahead of Bertram Allen in 24th who has risen 10 places this month. Allen continues to lead the way as the world’s top ranked under 25 rider.

A further five Irish riders are within the top 50: Paul O’Shea has jumped 12 places to 39th and is followed by Mark McAuley (41st), Denis Lynch (43rd), Conor Swail (45th) and Shane Breen (50th). There was no change in the top six places with Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat holding onto his position as world number one, ahead of Sweden’s Peder Fredricson and compatriot Martin Fuchs.

Eventing

In the FEI world eventing rankings Cathal Daniels is the highest placed Irish rider despite dropping from 17th to 21st. He is closely followed by fellow World Equestrian Games teammates Sarah Ennis (24th) and Sam Watson (30th). The only other Irish rider within the top 50 is individual world silver medallist Padraig McCarthy (43rd).

New Zealand’s Tim Price has maintained his place as world number one, closely followed Britain’s Oliver Townend and Piggy French.

Judy Reynolds remains as the only Irish dressage rider in the top 50. After a quiet month while Vancouver K was on a competition break, she dropped three places to 21st, but returned last weekend with two four-star podium places in Austria.
