THE last international show jumping event of the year is taking place this weekend at Cavan Equestrian in Latt, Co Cavan. Action at the venue kicked off on Wednesday, while the one-star international classes got underway on Friday afternoon.
The highlight on Friday was the vintage riders speed chase which saw a list of well-known veterans in the sport line out to mark the 10 year anniversary of show jumper Benny Kuehnle. The charity class, alongside a Go Fund Me page, is raising funds for suicide awareness in conjunction with Pieta House Midlands.
Tonight’s (Saturday) feature is the Kingsland Puissance, which kicks off at 9.30pm and will be live streamed on YouTube. Before that, the €4,000 Cavan County Council 1.40m Table A will take place at 7pm.
Visit cavanequestrian.com for the link to the live stream.

The feature event of the show, the International Grand Prix, with a prize fund of €8,000, takes place at 7.30pm on Sunday evening. Last year’s winner, Shannon Mackenzie and Bens Lady Lux, are back in Cavan this weekend to defend their 2017 title.
