Balmoral and Iverk off

IN yet another major blow to the decimated fixtures calendar, Balmoral Show, Iverk Show and Roundstone Show were all cancelled this week, while a decision on Clifden will be made after May 5th.

Balmoral, attracts over 120,000 visitors, and had been postponed to August 19th-22nd from its usual May date. Iverk Show would have celebrated its 194th anniversary this year.

Both major fixtures will be back on the calendar for 2021.

Babalou 41 retired

DARRAGH Kenny has announced the retirement of the 15-year-old mare Babalou 41, owned by Jack Snyder. “Wishing this mare a very happy retirement! You were an incredible horse for my career and picked the biggest show of the year in shine in the Grand Prix, thank you for everything,” Kenny wrote on his social media. Their finest hour came in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen in 2018 when they finished fourth, and followed that up with fifth place in 2019.

Kenny to speak at equestrian summit
