BEF investigation

ALLEGATIONS of corruption, bullying and elitism in British equestrianism has lead to the launch of an independent review.

The British Equestrian Federation commissioned an external investigation, chaired by John Mehrzad, head of the sports law group at Littleton barristers’ chambers, into its internal workings.

The investigation was prompted by the resignation of a former chief executive after barely a year at the organisation’s helm.

The review panel, which also includes two former detective chief inspectors, Sharon Scotson and Ben Ewart, aims to complete its investigation by December 1st.
