Agri Careers at the RDS

LOOKING for a career in the equine industry?

Put Thursday, March 30th in your phones and diaries. On that date, the RDS will host Agri Careers, an exhibition where employers from every part of the agricultural industry will be showcasing job opportunities.

Organised by our sister paper The Irish Farmers Journal, Agri Careers will also feature a number of short talks by employers, self-starters and career advisors.

Leo Powell, Editor of The Irish Field, will chair an equine session which has attracted an impressive panel. The three guests are international show jumper Greg Broderick, Clodagh Kavanagh of Darley Flying Start and Patrick Ryan of Horse Racing Ireland’s Careers and Racing Education Department. Watch this space for more details closer to the time or please check the Agri Careers website at wwww.agricareers.ie

Charity Ride support

THE County Clare Hunt is hosting a Charity Ride on March 26th from Quin Village, starting at 12.30pm, in aid of Clare Suicide Bereavement Support, a very worthy charity.

This is the sixth year of the charity ride which has grown in strength each year.

All support would be very welcome.

River horse rescued

A horse was rescued from the River Suir, near Clonmel, last Saturday, after he was stuck in mud for at least three hours on a bitterly cold weekend.

Carrick River Rescue, TSPCA and Cahir River Rescue were all involved in the successful operation. Cahir River Rescue and Carrick River Rescue brought the horse to the Clonmel side of the river. He was recovered and handed back to the owner.
