IDHBA sale

THE Cork/Kerry Branch of the IDHBA will be running a mixed horse and pony sale at Ballybrack Equestrian Centre, Genville, Co. Cork, on Sunday, October 22nd at 12 noon. There will be sections for Irish Draughts, Foals, Sport Horses and Ponies. Showing classes for entered foals will be held prior to the sale. The equestrian centre and sale will be well signed. Take Exit 17 (Watergrasshill) off the Cork-Dublin motorway.

TREC fixture

NOTE that the TREC Ireland MA/PTV Championships which were scheduled for Ballindenisk this Sunday, October 1st, have been cancelled due to the ground conditions.

Fun ride

ALL are welcome to join in the Kilworth and Araglen Harriers Charity Fun Ride on October 8th, Co Cork. All proceeds are going to the Irish Cancer Society and local charities. Call 087 8095 415.

Breen sxth

IRELAND’s Shane Breen finished sixth in the opening 1.45m class at CSIO5* Barcelona. Riding Caroline Byrne Traditional Irish Sport Horse stallion Hallowberry Cruz (Cruising x Clover Hill), Breen posted a clear round 60.18 seconds. The class was won by Brazil’s Eduardo Menezes and Caruschka 2 (0/0 58.50).

Copain du Perchet sold

COPAIN du Perchet has been sold to young British show jumper Emily Moffitt. The 12-year-old stallion by Conteur was a consistent winner for Cian O’Connor this summer picking up two victories at the Dublin Horse Show and Falsterbo, as well as a win in Aachen, Germany, and Treffen.

Moffitt trains with Britain’s Ben Maher and was part of the young rider team who won a gold medal at the Young Rider European Championships in August.
