THE Irish Horse Welfare Trust announced the launch of its new website.

The website has been especially designed and delivered by the IHWT digital partners - Irish equestrian marketing agency Halcyon Days and has been sponsored by www.HorsePlay.ie – Ireland’s online equestrian resource.

Jenny Doran of Halcyon Days said: “We are delighted to have been able to create a new website for the IHWT, which is an important tool for the Trust in communicating with the public and getting the charity’s horse welfare message out and the fantastic work they do.

“The old site needed to be upgraded and we’ve worked hard to create a new, modern site that is both easy for the public to use and easy for IHWT staff to maintain.”

A completely new Re-Homing section will make it much easier for the IHWT to upload details of horses and ponies that are ready for re-homing, while the public can learn about the horses rescued by the charity, their own individual stories and hopefully be encouraged to provide a horse or pony with a forever home.

The News section will provide news, updates and regular stories from the charity farm and will be linked to other sections including the rescue section.

It will also be easier for the public to donate and contribute to the worthy work of the IHWT on a one off, or ongoing basis and browse and purchase ethical gifts from the new IHWT online store.

The IHWT Thoroughbred Club will have a dedicated area which will feature news and advice for owners and riders of ex-racehorses along with dates for upcoming fixtures.

Sharon Power of the IHWT said: “We are very grateful for the support of Halcyon Days and HorsePlay.ie to develop this new website which is really important for highlighting our work and will much more useful to our supporters and the public.

The site is operational in time for the online sale of our Christmas Cards and we encourage supporters to go online and visit the new site at www.ihwt.ie.”
