A RECRUITMENT process is under way at Horse Sport Ireland to replace Brendan Higgins who departed his role as head of finance at the Naas-based organisation.

A qualified accountant, Co Meath native Higgins officially took up the role at HSI on March 11th 2019. He was the youngest ever member to be admitted to an Irish institute in 2002, joining Setanta Sports group in 2004 where he was responsible for the financial control of its then newly launched Irish operations. He was appointed as chief financial officer of the group in 2013 where he played a key role in the strategic direction and commerical operations of the business, helping return Setanta Sports to profitability.

Positive contribution

A HSI spokesperson told The Irish Field yesterday (Friday): “Brendan has departed Horse Sport Ireland to return to the broadcast media industry. During the last year, Brendan has made a very positive contribution to Horse Sport Ireland in his role as head of finance and we would like to thank him and wish him every success with his future business endeavours. We are also looking forward to exploring possible collaborations with Brendan on key media projects. The process for recruiting his replacement is already under way.”
