THE Northern Region, in association with MEC, has once again organised a Flexi Eventing series which takes place at The Meadows Equestrian Centre, starting today and running each Saturday up to, and including, March 7th.

The series is sponsored by Baileys Horse Feeds, with points being awarded for performance of combinations as well as attendance each week. Prizes will be presented to the top 15 in the league as well as a prize to the best placed Pony Club/Riding Club participant.

Dressage, which must be pre-entered with Dora Beacom (0787 6758979 or dorabeacom@live.co.uk) by 5pm on Wednesday of each week, takes place in Arena 1 and caters for Intro, Pre Novice, Novice and Intermediate (subject to demand) levels. Show jumping in Arena 2 starts at 9am with two heights (70cms and 1m) running simultaneously. These will subsequently be raised to 80cms and 1.10m followed by 90cms and 1.20m. The cross-country phase will take place in Arena 3, starting at 9.30am, with three full courses (80cms, 90cms and 1m) of fences, including a new water complex and bank.

The series is open to everyone (you do not have to be a member of Eventing Ireland) and costs £10 per discipline. Competitors can choose to do any, or all, of the disciplines. Plaiting is not necessary, but proper dress should be worn and body protectors of minimum BETA 2009 Level 3 must be worn for cross-country.

Further details can be found on the MEC and Eventing Ireland websites. The list of dressage tests being used are listed on the Northern Region’s Facebook page.
