FEI pony measuring session at Cavan EC

A NEW FEI Pony Measuring System came into effect on January 1st 2020 and all new pony registrations must measure at an official FEI measuring session in order to compete at FEI pony events this year and beyond.

There is a transition period for ponies already registered with the FEI which will be in place until December 31st 2022, after which the new system will be fully implemented.

Cavan Equestrian Centre is formally approved as the IRL FEI pony measuring centre and the 2020 session will be held at Cavan on Wednesday, February 26th from 9.30am.

Measured-In Ponies will receive an FEI Measuring Certificate according to their age – ponies that are eight years or older will receive a lifetime certificate while younger ponies will receive a one-year certificate.

The cost per pony is €140 which includes a day stable at Cavan EC.

Pony owners must ensure that their pony or ponies hold a current FEI ID registration in order to be measured and all animals must be accompanied by their passport or they will not be measured.

Pony owners are required to book their place online via www.cavanequestrian.com and the deadline for applications is Friday, February 21st.

Stakeholders should consult the FEI guidelines on the pony measuring system.
