THE committee behind the annual David Foster Injured Riders’ Fund Ball has taken the difficult decision to cancel the event due to low ticket sales.

“It is with deep regret that we must announce the cancellation of this year’s David Ball, scheduled for next weekend,” they said.

“Unfortunately, due to lower-than-expected ticket sales, it is not feasible for the evening to proceed. The David Foster Injured Riders Fund has provided over €200,000 in financial assistance to injured Irish event riders over the years. As the only dedicated financial support available to event riders in Ireland, the fund plays a crucial role in our community. The annual ball has been the key fundraising event, and this decision was not made lightly.

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our three main sponsors – Tottenham Timber, GAIN Equine Nutrition, and Aloga Equestrian – who generously committed to supporting this year’s event. We also deeply appreciate those who purchased tickets, and we will be processing refunds in due course.
