A LIST of qualifying shows for the new racehorse to riding horse working hunter series was published this week and it reveals that 21 ISA-sanctioned shows throughout the Association’s five regions have agreed to host qualifiers before the final at Iverk on Saturday, August 25th.

Horses will jump the novice working hunter tracks (90cms) at these shows with two qualifying from each for the Co Kilkenny final where a €3,000 prize-fund is being sponsored by HorseRail Ireland.

It has also been agreed that invitations to compete at the final will be extended to the top two horses from the working hunter class at the two-day Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland show at Boswell Equestrian in late July.

The new series was first announced at the ITBA EXPO 2018 at Goffs in January but had long been under consideration by Racehorse to Riding Horse Ireland’s Julie Morris and racehorse owner Michael Moloney.

The latter, who has an unraced horse to compete in the series, is a director of the Co Waterford-based firm MMG Ireland which distributes HorseRail products in this country.

The series runs from May until August and the list of qualifying dates and venues is as follows: May 20th Bandon, 27th Athenry; June 2nd Lurgan, 10th Clonakilty, 16th Gorey, 16th/17th Cork summer show, 23rd/24th Charleville, 24th Athlone; July 1st Clonmel and Longford, 6th/7th Omagh, 7th Adamstown, 14th Ardrahan and Castlewellan, 15th Loughrea, 21st Carnew and Saintfield, 25th Clogher Valley, 26th Dungarvan (Co Waterford), 29th Ballinrobe; August 19th Tullow.
