LANAKEN gold medal winner Columbcille Gipsy (ISH) is one of 53 top show jumpers selected to go under the hammer at the Paul Schockemöhle Elite Auction on December 2nd and 3rd next.

Bred by Eamonn Murphy and Ger O’Neill, Columbcille Gipsy, who was an embryo transfer, is a six-year-old mare by Toulon out of Gipsy III.

Under O’Neill, the combination had an impressive season with top placings in Bannow & Rathangan, Dublin and a win in the Irish Breeders Classic five/six year-old Grand Final.

Murphy and O’Neill also have Columcille Gipsy’s two-year-old full-sister Columbcille Modell. “It’s very positive for the horse industry that Ireland is now breeding horses that are not only winning medals at world championships but are being selected for top elite sales.

“The P.S.I. auction is the most sought after sale in the world and to have an Irish Sport Horse included on the catalogue is a great statement to the quality of horses that we are breeding and production,” said O’Neill.
