BRITISH Equestrian has been allocated £150,000 of National Lottery funding by Sport England to support riding centres struggling due to Covid-19. The fund aims to provide immediate funding to those most in need. It’s specifically targeted at riding centres and groups delivering activity for disabled participants who have been affected by Covid-19, but have been unable to secure funding or financial support from other sources.

Deadline for H.S.I. schemes

Horse Sport Ireland confirmed they are currently reviewing the Sport Ireland grant schemes ahead of the deadline on Monday, September 14th. Sport Ireland is allocating €70 million for the NGBs of Sport, Local Sports Partnerships and sports clubs in response to Covid-19.

The funding will be allocated through four grant schemes, two of which – the Sports Club Resilience Fund and the Restart and Renewal Fund – HSI have called for applications from its affiliates.

A HSI spokesperson said: “Horse Sport Ireland is reviewing the scheme requirements in advance of the September deadline. Horse Sport Ireland called for applications from affiliates on July 30th for the Sports Club Resilience Fund and the Restart and Renewal Fund with applications currently being received.”

Funding allocations will be made in October, dependent on the level of applications received.
