Win for Duffy
MICHAEL G. Duffy took the the win in the CSI3* at Herning when he piloted Carl Hanley’s Irish sport horse stallion Lapuccino 2 to a clear in 35.04 seconds last Sunday. Duffy delivered the fastest double clears of seven from the starting list of 40 combinations. Finishing in 12th place was Shane Carey and Sanloe.
Norris placed
KILLIAN Norris put in a solid performance at Chevenez, Switzerland, last week. Riding Faleva S, he finished in 13th place in the 1.30m two-phase, clear in 34.2 seconds.
Last Saturday he improved on this performance when he took 12th in the 1.35m accumulator with Clintana E when he recorded the maximum score of 65 in 49.99.
Babington close
TIPPERARY’s Kevin Babington finished just outside the top 10 in the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping North American League in Del Mar, USA. Riding the 15-year-old Irish sport horse Mark Q, he crossed the line carrying an unfortunate four faults in 77.52.
Bred by John and Barbara Walshe from Co Carlow and now jointly owned by Babington and Deirdre Bourns, the talented gelding is by O.B.O.S Quality 004 out of Abbey Emerald.
Dougie shines
IRISH sport horse Dougie Douglas, ridden by America’s Katie Dinan, was in the ribbons last weekend when they led the victory lap in the $40,000 jump-off class at Harrisburg, USA.
