Dujardin award

CHARLOTTE Dujardin was been named the Sunday Times & Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Year at a glittering ceremony in Britain on Thursday night.

The 29-year-old won gold in the individualand team events at London 2012 on-board Dutch gelding Valegro, as well as the World and European Championships.

Dujardin is the third horsewoman to win the main award after event riders Pippa Funnell and Zara Phillips.

NI Dressage

Carolyn Mellor has been announced as the new chairperson of Northern Ireland Dressage. Mellor runs Glenview Stables, a livery/training yard in Co Down Northern Ireland and represented Ireland in the past with Hails Vision, before concentrating on producing young horses.

Kauto Star

EVENT rider Laura Collett is to showcase the former racing hero Kauto Star at the popular Olympia Show next month. The dual Gold Cup winner will be ridden in a dressage demonstration on December 16th by Collett, who said: “He’s never been in an environment like that before, so hopefully he’ll behave.”
