The bay son of the thoroughbred stallion Moshaajir won the youngstock title before seeing off the overall ridden champion, Heather McCloy’s middleweight winner Top Executive, a nine-year-old Out Of Touch gelding, to claim supreme hunter honours.

This was just the second outing of the season for Diamond Choice, who had qualified at Lurgan for the Connolly’s Red Mills All-Ireland two-year-old championship at Tinahely in August.

Diamond Choice was purchased as a foal at Goresbridge, consigned to the traditional Irish section of the 2012 breeding stock sale by Co Wexford’s James Furney, who bred him out of the Coevers Diamond Boy mare Millhouse Diamond.

Lesley Webb won the heavyweight ridden hunter class with Julie O’Neill’s Lets Coast and qualified for the Horse of the Year Show when second in the side-saddle class with Wanda McIwaine’s Dancing Queen.
