AMERICAN eventing legend Denny Emerson is to host a series of master classes at the 2016 Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show.

Acknowledged as an influential force in the American equestrian community for over 50 years, the event rider, trainer, coach, author and Irish horse enthusiast will also judge the young event horse classes at the show.

Emerson was named the United States Eventing Association’s Rider of the Year in 1972 and was part of the gold medal-winning US eventing team in 1974. His students include Canadian Olympian Kelli McMullen-Temple, world silver medallist Dorothy, 1996 Bromont winner David O’Brien and Nancy Bliss, team bronze medallist at the 1982 World Championships.

Emerson has a strong affiliation with Irish-bred horses, standing the stallion Formula One, an Irish three-quarter bred at stud. For more on Emerson, don’t miss The Irish Field’s Dublin Horse Show preview on July 16th.
