THEY came, they saw, they rode, they conquered...

Reigning RDS team hunt chase champions, the Killinick Harriers, retained their title this year after a thrilling competition in the Main Area before a packed crowd.

The Killinick team of Johnny Roche, Benny Walsh, Kiera Walsh and James Rath, under chef d’equipe Jenny Roche, (who was placed fourth in the four and five-year-old Irish Draught Performance Class) also regained their league championship title, which was awarded after the final at Fingal Hunt Chase.

Second place went to the Kildare Foxhounds team of Hazel Valentine, Helen Keatley, Maria Doyle and Richard Sutton, under chef d’equipe Chris Ryan, who gave the Killinicks a run for their money.

Joint-third place was shared by the Longford Harriers team of Paddy Berry, Dee Murray, Siobhan Connell and Liam Dillon, under chef d’equipe Thelma Murray, and the Ward Union team of Trevor Gurmin, Peter Toole, Melissa Leonard and Peter King, with chef d’equipe Keith Flood.

Tribute was paid to John Rowley and to all who competed, ran qualifiers or supported Hunt Chasing Ireland this year.
