INSPIRATIONAL British event rider Hannah Francis (18) sadly lost her battle with cancer this week, but her legacy lives on through Wilberry Wonder Pony, inspiring people all over the world.

Diagnosed last year, Hannah focused on pursuing her dream of riding at the top level of three-day eventing. Her stuffed toy pony became a mascot, helping to raise over £110,000 by June for Hannah’s Wilberry Wonder Pony Charity, raising funds for bone cancer research and to grant equine-related wishes to cancer sufferers.

Hannah’s dream of riding at an international horse trials came true at Tattersalls when she and her bay mare Mavis rode the one and two-star tests in style.

Patron of the charity is British international and fellow cancer sufferer Ben Hobday, who recovered from leukaemia.

“Thank you Tattersalls International Horse Trials and everyone else who totally made so many of my wishes reality today. It was magical,” she said afterwards.
