ONE of Cruising’s two clones, Cruising Encore, is to take part in the Traditional Irish Horse Association parade at Tattersalls today, Saturday, at 1.30pm.

Cruising Encore, is set to draw crowds as this will be the first time the stallion will have been presented in public since he and Cruising Arish were revealed to the world in The Irish Field in March.

STANDING AT STUD

Owned by Mary McCann of Hartwell Stud in Kill, Co Kildare, the clones are standing at stud for the first time in 2015. This week breeder James Ryan confirmed thatKilnamac Sally, the dam of Joseph Murphy’s World Equestrian Games mount Electric Cruise, has been scanned in foal to Cruising Encore. Electric Cruise is by Cruising out of the Clover Hill dam.

In all, 19 traditionally-bred animals will be showcased, including six registered Connemara performance ponies and three Connemara/thoroughbred crosses.

The best known of those will undoubtedly be Camilla Speirs’s plucky event horse Portersize Just A Jiff.

The 15.1hh horse competed in pony, junior and young rider classes before making the step up to senior ranks and competing for Ireland at the four-star Badminton horse trials, the World Equestrian Games and the London Olympics.

The line-up will also feature three Irish Draught/thoroughbred crosses.
