WITH the clock counting down towards the start of the 2016 FEI European Jumping Championships in Millstreet, Co. Cork, the Duggan family are delighted to announce that this year’s Championships will be presented by Devenish Nutrition Ltd.
The Championships, which take place from July 26th - 31st next, were last held in Millstreet over 20 years ago and many of the athletes who represented their nations have gone on to achieve success at the highest level in the showjumping world – none more so than current European and World Championship gold medallist Dutch rider Jeroen Dubbeldam who was awarded the individual gold medal at Young Rider level in 1994.
The 2016 Championships will see a record 30 nations descend on the famous Green Glens Arena where competition will take place to decide the team and individual European medallists for Young Riders, Juniors and Children on Horses. Ireland will be hoping to build upon their medal haul from the last Championships, this time in front of a home crowd. In 2015 they brought home medals in all three categories, crowned by the performance of Offaly-based Jennifer Kuehnle (14) who went on to become individual gold medallist in the Children on Horses final.
Based in Belfast, Devenish Nutrition is a leader in developing and offering nutritional solutions to the challenges faced by livestock producers and owners of companion and leisure animals. In recent years, they have been regular supporters of equestrian sport in Ireland through their sponsorship of initiatives including Jumping in the City and Bet Showjumping LIVE and the team at Devenish look forward to supporting young riders from across Europe as they vie for podium positions at the 2016 Championships.
